Big fun for children at RHS Tatton Park

From free workshops to hidden nature trails, there are activities for all the family at this year’s Show – here are some highlights

Sewing Bees

Scouse Flowerhouse are all about ‘wildflowering’ public brownfield and green spaces, bringing wildflower habitats and ecological landscapes to Liverpool City Region and beyond. Help spread the word by decorating one of 1,000 hessian panels that will be sown together to make one giant banner.

ZooLab

Get up close and personal with a range of bugs and larger beasties, including Giant African Land snails, Giant African millipedes, tree frogs, scorpions and even tarantulas. ZooLab’s passionate field presenters are here to inspire a love of nature in people of all ages through ethical animal encounters.

Pencil and Petals

To enjoy a moment of mindfulness, head to the Pencils and Petals stand where children and adults can take part in some creative colouring. Choose from ready-made sheets featuring a range of flowers just waiting to come to life, or create your own fantastical flower that pollinators will make a beeline for.

Find the Hidden Nature Trail

Can you find the ‘hidden nature’ around the Showground? Pick up an activity sheet from the Bug Hub, Visitor Information or RHS Hub and follow the prompts to discover all sorts of unexpected wonders. The National Education Nature Park empowers children and young people to make a positive difference to both their own and nature’s future – find out more in the School Plots area.
